Passion Over Fear: The David Ashe Story
Decades on two wheels, one truth remains: trust the bike, trust yourself, and never stop riding.

David’s BMW leathers, patina’d over the years.
The first time David Ashe climbed onto a motorcycle, he was a kid in Colombia, watching his father roll up to their home on a 175cc Yamaha two-stroke – its exhaust popping - “Hop on the back,” his dad said, grinning. David was terrified, but curiosity won.
They pulled away slowly, the hum of the engine vibrating through him. Then came the first turn. Instinct made him lean away, stiff against the motion, trying to counterbalance the bike. His father’s voice cut through the wind: “No – you have to lean into the turn with me. That’s how it works.”

On the next curve, David tried it. The bike and rider moved as one, and the sensation flipped a switch. By the time they rolled back into the driveway, the fear was gone. He didn’t want to get off. A few years of pleading later, he had his own 80cc Yamaha dirt bike.
The rest was inevitable – he’s been riding ever since.

Over decades on two wheels, David has found the motorcycle community to be one of the most diverse, open, and welcoming circles anywhere. “When you share the passion, you’re part of the group,” he says. “It doesn’t matter what you do for a living, how much you make, or where you’re from – once you’re on a bike, you’re just another rider.” “It’s a community that looks out for each other,” he says. “Whether you’ve known someone for years or just met them at a gas station, you can count on a fellow rider.”
